Does "not verified" mean something is wrong?

No. It only means Proof Rail has no active record for it. Ask the owner to verify with Proof Rail, and check another way before you rely on it.

Does "Verified by Proof Rail" mean the claim is true?

It means the value is on an active Proof Rail record. Open the record to see what was checked, how and when. A record is not an endorsement, legal opinion, guarantee or regulatory approval.

What do you store when I check something?

Nothing you paste, and it is not written to our logs. Proof Rail counts checks per day by kind and result (for example "website, not verified") without the value, and counts page visits without cookies. The privacy policy at proofrail.me/privacy has the details.

What does the browser extension send?

When it is available: the domain of each website you visit (never the full address, and not platforms such as x.com or gmail.com), @handles on x.com, wallets it sees, and the sender of an email you open in Gmail. One value per request, with no cookies.

Something on a record is wrong. What do I do?

Open the record and use "Report a discrepancy or dispute this certificate" at the bottom. Choose a reason, describe what is wrong, and add an email and a public evidence link if you want a reply. It opens a review. It does not suspend the record by itself. The page then confirms your report was received and shows a reference starting RR-. Keep it if you need to follow up.

How long does verification take?

Automatic checks such as DNS, wallet signatures and email links run when you complete them. Standard human reviews aim to finish one business day after Proof Rail has everything it needs.
